At the Horse Creek Restoration Project, RVFLi-mited was the surface restoration contractor under Prime Contractor Hayward Baker for the Wyoming Department of Environment Quality-Abandoned Mine Land Division. This project was administered by the State to restore the Mill Creek stream flow, remove debris left from the former workings and secure the facility to eliminate risk to the public. The Horse Creek Mine was a former underground Limestone Mine with over 10 miles of underground workings within the hogbacks of Wyoming. When the mine closed in the mid-1970's, the company collapsed the main portal and pushed most of the remaining build-ings into the portal area. Since that time, numerous surface subsidence features and formed that had lead to the death of two individuals and the diversion of Mill Creek. |
